The Coinbase Wallet announcement also highlights its commitment to extending global access to digital assets, especially for those in high-inflation economies with limited access to the global financial system. "With Coinbase Wallet, you can also receive money from any crypto-currency exchange or self-storage wallet, buy Coinbase fee-free USDC wherever Coinbase Pay is available, and send USDC globally at no cost on networks such as Arbitrum, Avax, Base, Optimism and Polygon," the company explains. This expansion is accompanied by a significant simplification of the payment experience, thanks to the introduction of an optional simple mode in Coinbase Wallet, designed for beginners and focusing on the essential functions.

How do I use this new feature?

1. Open Coinbase Wallet: If you haven't already done so, download and open the Coinbase Wallet app on your mobile device (available on iOS and Android).
2. Select the amount and transfer method: Once in the application, select the amount of USDC you wish to send. Choose the "send via link" option.
3. Generate transfer link: Once you have chosen this option, a claim link will be created. You can share this link with your recipient via various means such as messaging services, social networks or even by e-mail.
4. Claim the funds: When your recipient receives the link, all they have to do is click on it. They will then be redirected to the Coinbase Wallet application to claim the funds. If they do not already have the application, they will be invited to download it to create a wallet and receive the funds.
5. Transaction process: Once the link has been activated, the recipient will have two weeks to claim the funds. After this period, if the funds are not claimed, they will automatically be returned to the sender.
